Seminar-workshops for a Stronger Barangay Justice System held

The Department of the Interior and Local Government-National Capital Region (DILG-NCR) with the Liga ng mga Barangay and Barangay Action Centers (BACs) of Pasay City conducted a three-day seminar-workshop to help barangays strengthen the justice system in their respective jurisdictions held at Club Balai in Isabela, Talisay, Batangas and Dominique Hotel in Tagaytay City last March 2-4, 26-18 and 23-25 respectively.

Bearing the theme “Barangay Justice System: A Vehicle towards Peaceful Communities”, the activity enhanced the capacities of the members of the Lupon Tagapamayapa, Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC), other barangay officials and  on Katarungang Pambarangay and Small Claims, Anti-Violence Against Women and their Children (VAWC) and Juvenile Justice and Welfare Act of 2006.

Pasay City Director Maria Luisa I. Echavia, MGM, LnB President Ma. Antonia C. Cuneta, Hon. Mayor Antonino G. Calixto represented by OIC Nicanor Teodoro, ADA Vina Dadag, LGOO V John A. Visca, LGOO VI Marco Augusto, LGOO VI Lourdes Magbitang, and LGOO VI Fortunato Austria served as resource-speakers.

 The activity drew together over 300 participants from 92 barangays of Pasay City.
